About
Assalaamu’alaikum!

Praise Be to Allah swt for Allowing me to set this blog up (:
I hope you will respect my decision to remain anonymous, due to personal reasons (: But I think in order to understand my posts, I suppose you’d have to understand a wee bit about me (:
Cuz that’s exactly how I would treat you as well. You see, I don’t believe in judging people at face value. I prefer understanding people. What influenced their perceptions? What influenced their way of thinking? What’s their life like that made them who they are now?
Because I believe that even in the worst person in the world, there still exists some form of good in them.
And I really despise stereotyping people for no good cause. (:
About Me

I strongly believe that everything that Allah Commands us to do through the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is the most ideal way to live and survive in this temporary world. I like to compare the teachings of Islam to man-made laws and to the general behaviour of human beings, and I’ve found the former to be much more superior. How can they not if they all come from The One Who Gave us life?

I’m in love with Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Subhan’Allah, he has such an amazing character that I know if I meet him, I’d fall for him. I’ve been trying to incorporate the Sunnah into my life step by step. Alhamdulillah, some of the steps I’ve put into my life have had positive impacts. (:
I’m also interested in Tasawwuf. I’d love to learn to be spiritually connected to Allah swt. (:
I dream of performing my pilgrimage, and eventually finding a life partner who more or less shares the same ideals and perceptions as I do and is ready to lead ourselves and our families to seek Allah’s Pleasure. I would love the honour to become a mother (:
The Shobirin
Perhaps you’re wondering why I named my blog “theshobirin”, which translates to ‘the patient’.
You see, I believe patience is the key to handling everything in this life. And it’s not just limited to hardships. (:
وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ
“And Allah loves the patient” (Al-Imran|3:146)
In my opinion…
If one is patient, one can forgive others easily, for humans are imperfect.
If one is patient, one will understand that any hardship that comes to them is merely a test from Allah s.w.t and is a way to prove their belief in and loyalty to Him.
If one is patient, one will think twice before doing anything, its long-term consequences.
When one is patient, one can be at peace most of the time.
I aim to become one of the shobirin that Allah s.wt. Loves.
But I know I’ll never be able to master patience. xD
- Content
Insya’Allah I will post my observations, comparisons, any internal jihad worth mentioning, and any good stuff about Islam I find on the internet.
I’ve been an active blogger since 2003, so I’ve tasted the danger of being emotionally dependant on blogging one too many times, so Insya’Allah, you won’t find indiscrimate rantings or emotional outbursts.
May my content be of benefit to all of us, Insya’Allah (:
Feel free to share your opinions and correct me if I’m wrong about anything(:
Syukran!

Salaam,
I came across your blog on Hadithuna and I thought that you might be interested in including a “Meccho it” link on your blog posts. Meccho is a social bookmarking site for Muslims and I think your blog posts will be warmly accepted by the community there and could dramatically increase the number of visitors you get.
The script for your site is:
a href=”javascript:q=(document.
location.href);t=(document.title);void(open(‘http://www.meccho.com/bookmark?url=’[url]‘&title=’[title]”));”>Meccho it /a
Just fill in the [url] and [title] fields with the url and tile of your blog post. InshaAllah, we’ll be working with the Hadithuna admin to get a more automated script/plugin soon.
Please let me know if you need any assistance setting up the script.
jAk,
Fareed Ahmed

Salaam Alaikum sister,
I came to your blog by chance and may Allah (swt) bless you and reward you for the posts you write on here.
One thing that caught my attention is that you are interested in sufism, but I must warn you that sufism is not on the straight path of Allah (swt) and the scholars of Islam have said that they are a deviant group that is far away from the sunnah of our beloved prophet (pbuh).

Wa’alaikummussalaam…
Thank you, sis, for the du’aa… May Allah swt Bless you as well in your own strive to please Him (:
And thank you for the warning, and the link to the website… yes, actually I have come across several books and websites regarding Sufism and I am now quite aware that it is actually pretty much an ideology of spirituality, and apparently it’s universal.
I don’t know how accurate is the info but a book I’ve read said its roots came from Islam.
There are some things about it that made me really uncomfortable and striked me as against Islam.I thought it was the same thing as Tasawwuf you see (:
http://www.tasawwuf.org/basics/what_tasawwuf.htm
Because I know we need to be spiritual in our strive towards Allah swt as well. (:
But thank you very very much for raising your concern, Masya’Allah, May Allah swt Bless you for doing so.
Jazaakallahu Khair, Sis (:

Salaam Alaikum sister,
you are right, we do need to be spiritual in our strive towards Allah (swt) and the best (and only) way to do so is to follow the footsteps of our beloved prophet (pbuh) and practice islam the way he and his companions used to practice islam.
Tasawwuf in the past did have a simple and good meaning to it, it meant to lead a simple lifestyle and not be concerned much with worldly matters but to care more about the hereafter. But in more recent times like in the past several hundered years, certain people who followed their own desires started new ways of worshipping Allah (swt) and introduced newly invented matters into our perfect religion. And we all know what our prophet (pbuh) have said about innovations in our religion that every innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance leads to hell fire (may Allah (swt) protect us from hell fire). And these new deviant sects took the name of sufism and tasawwuf and so now these words have lost their original and pure meanings of leading a simple lifestyle and not caring about worldly matters, and have become a representation of the new ways and innovations that these deviant people have associated it with.
I am not surprised when you say that some things you were not comfortable with and you thought was not part of islam, because most likely they were not part of islam and they are innovations that these people added to our pure and perfect islam, and Allah (swt) has gave us the fitrah or natural desposition and we can feel when something is not true or right. I urge you to challenge these people when they do something that you are not comfortable with and ask them for their proof that the prophet (pbuh) used to do what they are doing, to which I assure you they will not have an answer, and if they do then their answer will not be true but will be falsehood.
I know that they even use quotes of past scholars like Imam Abu Hanifa or Shafi’i that show how good tasawwuf is, but in reality back at the time of these great imams, tasawwuf meant something different than it means today, so these great imams were referring to tasawwuf as not caring for worldly matters and they were praising having a simple lifestyle by praising tasawwuf, rather than praising what these deviant sects do today.
I urge you sister to stay away from these people, because they will only be misguiding you, and in the hereafter you will not be happy when you find out the truth that these people were misleading you and told you that what they are giving you of islam is the truth when it is not.
Sister, I am very concerned for you, because some of what these people practice is not from islam at all, and their innovations is often mixed with shirk and associating partners with Allah (swt) which is the biggest sin anyone can do. They go to graves of prophets and righteous people and make du’a ASKING those dead people to give them what they want, instead of asking Allah (swt). They do much more things that are considered by the majority of the muslim scholars to be NOT a part of islam, but they try and decieve their followers into thinking that this is true islam and that most muslims accept what they do, while infact this is not true. All I can do is warn you to stay away from sufis, and I ask Allah (swt) to make your spiritual strive towards Him easy.
I hope I didn’t offend you or anyone with what I said, but I really think that it is my duty to warn everyone about what these people do and that they mislead other muslims who have sincere intentions but don’t know any better.
May Allah (swt) bless you and your family sister.
